Precambrian Resonance by Ostraka

Monday, June 29, 2009

The debut album by Ostraka will be released on July 28, 2009. The date marks the day that John Keston will post his 365th audio experiment on AudioCookbook.org. Ostraka's title Precambrian Resonance emerged after eleven months of capturing random recordings and sound design experiments exhibited on audiocoobook.org. These so called, "recipes for sound design", led Keston in a new musical direction that harnessed seemingly chaotic behaviors of natural sound recordings and digital processing into musical forms. The album is available through UEM as a pre-release. Pre-release download links will be emailed no later than one week before the official release date.

Transdimensional Bypass

Monday, March 9, 2009

Unearthed Music artist ten72 has completed a luscious album of sonic experiments titled Transdimensional Bypass (full length previews). This gapless collection of pieces has astonishing textural depth and sonic complexity; something that we’ve come to expect from ten72's music, but surprising in this case since every bit of audio on the album was recorded on a mobile phone. To make this a possibility ten72 has ingeniously used a profusion of processing to metamorphose the lofi, metallic sputterings of his mobile field recordings into an opulent dream scape of illusory audio. The release is available from Unearthed Music and major online distributors as a high quality download.
